Active Listening Post

Description: We have been learning about the three different types of listening that we can do. We made a movie with 2 kids in my whanau class to show the different types.

Big Idea:
The first type of listening was Busy Listening, this is when someone is talking to you and you are busy doing something else like playing on your iPad. The second type of listening was Me Too Listening, this is when someone is talking and you keep saying me too, me too instead of hearing what they are saying. The last type is Active Listening, this is when someone is talking, you look at them face to face and wait until they have finished talking and then you can start talking.

Feedback/Feedforward: I think it's a good movie but it has busy listening instead of me too listening. Next time you need me too listening. Toby

In this video we all took turns recording and i think next time we have to speak a little louder. I think I do busy listening and I need to work on active listening more.

Treaty of witangi sample

When was the treaty signed?

What were they fighting about?

What did they make the boat at of?

How long did it take to get to the island

How did they make the treaty

More than 40 chiefs signed the Māori copy of the Treaty at Waitangi on 6 February 1840. Copies were then taken all around the country, and chiefs from many places signed. There were about 50 signing meetings between February and September 1840 and about 540 chiefs gave their agreement.

The next day, 6 February, more than 40 chiefs signed the treaty. ... and believed the new relationship with Britain would stop fighting between tribes. Those who didn't sign the treaty were concerned they would lose their independence.

Here are some photos of boat we also put some bows in there and swords in case if they get in a fight.
